Rihanna: Seven Albums in Seven Years

Seven albums in seven years. That’s the feat that Rihanna has achieved after announcing her seventh studio album is to be released, following her latest single ‘Diamonds’.

Rihanna has become somewhat of a machine, consistently bringing out new music, new videos, new dramas and new hair. Less than a year after the release of her last album, ‘Talk That Talk’, Mrs. Fenty – Brown reveals the release date of her latest effort ‘Unapologetic’ as November 19th, alongside its cover art. The cover, in which Rihanna appears topless, has words such as ‘fun’, ‘victory’ and ‘love’ written across it. (You can’t help but feel as though these words in particular along with the album title are a big slap in the face of rice cake Karrueche Tran).

Until now, RiRi has crafted much of her career based on her looks and her ‘no fucks given attitude’, and nothing much has changed with ‘Unapologetic’. Although I feel this album cover on the whole is nothing new, I have high hopes for some ‘newness’ with the music she serves, and with ‘Diamonds’ growing on me with every bite, I do hope that the album follows up with a solid main course after such a high quality starter.

In the lead up to the release of ‘Unapologetic’, Island Def Jam has announced that Rihanna will begin her ‘777’ tour on November 14th. The tour will see the Bajan singer board a 777 jet, and fly across 7 different countries to do 7 shows in 7 days. One of these shows will take place in the UK.
