Ciara has returned with another one of her smooth R&B jams that get you feeling right. Even though the songs main focus is on the break up of a relationship, and how if the ex boyfriend only said ‘Sorry,’ they would have been able to work it out it’ still a sexy party starter. The lyrical content is very simplistic, and almost idealistic to think that one apology could have been the savior of the relationship. Ciara’s music is like a strong stable heart beat. Since the beginning of her career she has released beautiful songs both lyrically and instrumentally. However her talent has never exceeded expectations, and it’s about time she does something new or slightly different so that we can see her from a different angle. It’s time for her to start reaching higher and taking risks, like she does with her dancing.
‘Sorry’ is just one of those sexy sad songs that you play repeatedly even if you are not sad about anything in particular. The music video has a very dark setting, to emphasize the sadness of a lost cause, and there is a fair amount of nudity from her and the leading male to represent the loss of the touch that you miss about having that person around. As always the 26 year old continues to release that good loving music, but it’s time she spices it up and gives us just a little bit more
