[New Music] Marques Toliver – Magic Look

Marques has released the first single from his forthcoming debut album, which will be available to the public in early 2013. The man with the violin has changed the dull and uninspiring views that most people tend to have of the classical instrument. Who knew that four whining strings could create such ethereal beauty to ones ears, resonating the ease and grace of a smooth bass line. To mark the release of ‘Magic Look’ and his upcoming album, Marques Toliver will be playing his first London headline show in over a year with an intimate solo setting at the Union Chapel Bar in Islington on the 5^th September.

He’s been around for a few short years now, and continues to leave audiences amazed by his style and consistency. Marques has that trendy New York look, with a thick short Afro that is shaped to uneven perfection, adding to his focused yet spontaneous image. ‘Magic Look’ is the perfect prelude of what to expect from Toliver’s debut album. The chorus has a wonderfully soothing hook, and Marques is making use of his vocal talent by hitting different notes, that challenge the way we listen to his music.
