Pitbull just won’t stop making music. He thinks he’s “Mr Worldwide, coming to you live from the 305..Dale”. The amount of times we hear those words escape his mouth in every song, just makes him that much more annoying. Some of you may love him, but the majority of us can’t stand him anymore. What happened to the guy who released the song ‘Jungle Fever,’ featuring Wyclef Jean? Pitbull used to be so original, but now he’s just a media whore who releases anything that sells. We can all agree that House music is very popular right now, but it’s not going to last long, and his music is starting to sound like a broken record.
The fact that Shakira sold herself short, by joining the repetition that is Pitbull in his new song ‘Get It Started,’ is saddening. Shakira is the voice of Columbia, and authentic Spanish influenced music as a whole. For her to entertain such uninspiring music is shocking, as her music career has been full of growth but still sticking to her roots. It feels like House music is mainly dominated by creepy old men, and if Pitbull doesn’t stop soon he’s going to be adding creepy to his already expanding list of disappointments.
For those of you who like Pitbull, good, because he’s starting to run out of fans who care. If you feel like I’m being to harsh, listen to all the music he’s made since ‘I know You Want me,’ and tell me all his music since then doesn’t sound the same, and that his lyrics are life changing and inspirational. I advice him to quit, or start releasing music that doesn’t make me change the radio.
