Snoop Dogg now Snoop Lion’s eldest son Corde Broadus joins the music scene

Forget the fact that Snoop Dogg has decided to reinvent himself, by changing his name to Snoop Lion. Him embracing the Reggae culture comes as no surprise, or shock to those of us who have followed his career since the start. As a matter of fact it was long overdue, for him to reach that obvious conclusion.

What you should be focusing on is his son Corde Broadus, who has taken a liking to music, starting a Hippie movement. His entire philosophy as you find out while listening to his music, is that he’s a great lover Marijuana. Every music video that he’s released on Youtube, is of him smoking weed with friends, while rapping about smoking weed. Corde’s most impressionable song is ‘Hippie Paybacc,’ but that’s mainly because of the intensely funky instrumental that is a sample of James Brown’s ‘Payback’. The 18 year old definitely has the right mellow voice that gets you naturally high, but he needs a lot of work if he wants to take his music to the masses. He can’t continue to make songs just about weed, when there are so many other topics that could be covered.

If this all he’s learned from being in the front row of his dads career, then he hasn’t really been paying attention. Feel good music is more than just blowing tress, so hopefully over the next couple of years his lyrics will expand to new horizons. Corde isn’t the most naturally talented rapper, but he has a lot of potential and the smooth, “doggystyle” dance moves that can only be associated with Broadus family name. Corde has got that sunshine music, which makes you want to lay down in the grass on a hot summer day exhaling an illegal substance.
