The Smiths Are Taking Over Part 2 [Misfit Movement]: Jaden Smith – Give It To Em

Jaden has got that rusty antique beat instrumentals to compliment his still youthful voice. The bass hasn’t settled in yet, but when his voice breaks it will dominate beats nicely. The 13 year old is trying to come out as an individual in the music industry, so that he’s separated from the fame that each of his family members possess. His track ‘Give It To Em,’ has a very old school, genuine feel that shows us he’s a true Hip Hop lover at heart. His flow is nice and consistent, but within time and more practice he will develop a better presence that will draw more people to him for his music, instead of the boy from the Karate Kid.

A lot of kids who are brought up by talented celebrities feel like they need to follow in the footsteps of their parents, and usually end up failing it. But with Jaden you can tell that’s where he wants to be, and he’s not trying to portray a character he isn’t able to sell. It’s obvious that Jaden Smith is working hard, and trying to keep his options open by dabbling in both acting and music. However after watching his ‘Give It To Em,’ video, you get a sense of belonging from the way he moves, and carries himself in front of the camera He’s very young and recognizably trying to create something that will make him stand out, and with practice and repetition as a Smith he is guaranteed to succeed. Because the one thing that family is known for, is hard work and good results.
