Billy Lockett is a hardworking singer/songwriter from Northampton. His unique rockstar voice goes unnoticed and unforgotten, once he’s been heard by any member of the public. Even though Billy is unsigned, he has been receiving a lot of media attention from BBC Introducing, who plays his music on the radio. For a up and coming artist with YouTube views under 23 000, he still manages to sell out all his performances with ease. To watch Billy Lockett perform is a privilege, because he puts in more effort, energy and passion than most artist who sell out Wembley Arena.
It seems all the young boys with guitars are the ones taking over the music scene, but this piano/guitar playing indie pop sound that Billy exudes is very in tune with modern music. Normally Billy sings all his songs solo, but on the song ‘My Future,’ he’s joined with a rapper named Dizzy and his session guitarist Dan Blackwell creating a nice ethereal sound, with the use of two different genres. ‘My Future’ is the type of song that can appeal to Hip Hop/MC fans, as well as Indie/Pop music lovers. Billy Lockett deserves more views, and attention because his passion is heard through his music and his voice, as he sings from the top of his longs.
