[Underrated Song] John Legend – Tonight

After watching ‘Think Like a Man,’ I couldn’t stop thinking about how perfect the soundtrack was, and that John Legend’s – Tonight got played twice. He’s such an underrated artist, with immense talent. You can tell by every song he releases that he’s passionate about every word he sings, and that he’s put a lot of thought into his work before he lets his audience hear his music. It’s almost as if John Legend is constantly letting us into one of  his little secrets, and ways of woeing women. His beautifully crisp high pitch notes in ‘Tonight’ are flawless, shattering beyond any human comprehension.  The instrumental is so airy, and echoey creating an intensely soothing atmosphere, that leaves a shadow of a smile forming on your face unknowingly.

This 33 year is constantly getting the short end of the stick, when he deserves so much more for his contribution to music. He sings with purpose, and has an exceptionally large group of followers, so why is he always forgotten? Legend is one of the purest Singer/Songwriters left in the music industry, who sticks to his genre and continues to excel and push boundaries within his field. Let’s take 4 minute and 5 seconds to remind ourselves why John Legend isn’t always at the top of the charts.
