|Preview| PXL Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

PXL is a streetwear brand dedicated to geeks, nerds, neaks, freaks, Facebook fiends, bloggers, the Twitteratti, Tumblrets, Instagramers, Pinterestees, YouTubers, RedTubers, Bebo-ers, B-Boys, Linked-In-ers, tech heads, downloaders and designers… This is streetwear loved by the streets and geeks! We’re huge fans of the brand and their dedication to the UK scene despite the obvious US and Asian influences, this Spring/Summer Collection propels the brand to a higher echelon of quality!

Each style is a limited edition artwork of 100 pieces max, making our product extremely collectible. Our short runs mean that we do not mass produce our product and that you are wearing a unique and quality garment. Focussing on streetwear staples with a attention paid to premium fabrics, cut and imaginative graphics…

Inspired by the distorting effects that the digital world has on imagery. Pixels (invented in 1965) are the dots that computers break images down into. Low resolution images, corruption and distortion are all undesired effects but have become a style and an art form all of their own. Graphic, fashion and textile designers and music video directors have started to take these unintended effects and celebrate them… This is from where the concept of PXL was born…

Founded by a veteran of the UK music industry, who has been passionate about art and street culture – His first break had him creating imaginative artwork which was emblazoned over flyers for legendary club nights including Garage Nation, Sun City, TwiceAsNice, Pure Silk etc in the late 90’s. Since then he’s worked on artwork for an exhaustive list of music artists from Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah to 50 Cent, Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams; Beyoncé and Jessie J etc etc. He has also worked on marketing campaigns for a vast array of youth brands Levi’s, adidas, Nike, Bench, Puma, Reebok, Asics, JD and countless other prominent brands.
Inspired by meetings with Def Jam and Phat Farm founder Russell Simmons, T shirt mogul Johnny Cupcakes, the UK’s Wale Adeyemi and menswear revolutionary Cassette Playa… His focus moved to fashion and worked on pioneering streetwear brand Artful Dodger (by Scott Langton and Jay-Z) before deciding to launch PXL.

PXL’s off-beat stance instantly won over celebrity fans including Tinie Tempah, Ed Sheeran, Pro Green, Example, Devlin, Pendulum, Sway, DJ Semtex, Donaeo, Mr Jam, Roll Deep, Bashy, N-Dubz, The Thirst, MTV’s Joel Dommet and many more…

Check out some of this Spring/Summer Collection that features some amazing tee’s, hats, jumpers and pretty much anything else you want! Not only for geeks the brand really focuses on the small details (maybe that is geeky), and that’s what sets it apart from the other UK brands for me. Head over to PXLClothing to get buying!
