|News| The Oscars 2012 Nominations

Every year the biggest talents in film making come together in a celebration of the years best movies. This years nominations for the Oscars show an eclectic and diverse pool of talent, with silent film ‘The Artist’ scooping 10 nominations and Scorsese’s ‘Hugo’ also picking up 11 nominations it just shows how great a year this was for film. One thing I will say about the Oscars though is the the neglect of films released much earlier in the year, very similar to Grammy’s in that sense where the films released last summer for instance never get a nomination, its always films released around the Oscars season that get the most noms, I find that a bit odd. What an amazing line up, and a little fact for you, none of the Harry Potter franchise films have ever been up for ‘Best Picture’ despite the worldwide acclaim they receive? Very odd. Well done to all the nominations, hopefully one day TBM can actually attend the Oscars, might have to be a sabotage break in though! :)
